It’s easy to forget why you started making games in the first place. Watching my kids play games on their tablets and seeing how often they are smashed with ads or prompts to make an in-app purchase really frustrates me as a parent.
Don’t get me wrong, I know what goes in to game development. Game devs need to eat and have bills to pay, but the crap they push to kids is crazy! So with that rant out of the way, I decided to watch my kids gaming habits and what type of content they enjoy and make some games myself. Games that aren’t filled with forced ads and IAP prompts. Plus it’s a great way to sharpen my game dev skills while I’m at it!
Entertainment and pleasure first instead of profit! Making money is nice, but it’s not my focus with these mini games. If someone truly wants to support your work, there are other ways to do this that don’t involve spamming kids with ads.
So with that out of the way, I’ve made an initial dev build of Superstore Rush available on my website for everyone to ‘check-out’. You can find a direct link to Superstore Rush here. I plan to add a variety of games over time, all will be available on the Games page.
